TEXAS CRAB
 FESTIVAL
TALENT SHOW
The Texas Crab Festival Show will be held on Friday, May 10, 2002 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Entries must be sponsored by a Peninsula resident. There will be two age groups, 14 & below and 15 to 25. Categories are subject to change based on the number of entrants. Contestants must limit their acts to approximately five minutes. There will be limit of 10 contestants per category. All entries must be received no later than Friday, May 3, 2002 at 5:00 p.m. Contestants will be notified at the close of entries to verify their talent act. It is suggested that contestants submit entries early to reserve performance privileges. Crab Festival representatives reserve the right to refuse any questionable or inappropriate entries. Rules for Talent Show
Ages 14 and below. Ages 15 to 25.
Must be sponsored by a Peninsula resident.
Entries received first will have first option of performlng the song of their choice if more than one contestant is signed up to perform the same song.
Contestants will be notified confirming their performance selection.
Contestants will be judged in t hese areas:
Skill & Ability (the contestant's own voice and natural talent)
Originality (the contestant's personality and effort put into performance) '
Overall Presentation (Preparation, Presentation and Crowd Appeal)
Contestants can score up to five points per area for a possible score of 15 points.
Contestants performing with vocal artist assistance, using a musical artist's CD or tape, or lip-synching may receive low or no points under skill and ability. Please keep this in mind when deciding on your talent performance.
Contestants are responsible for providing their own music. (It is strongly suggested that Karaoke Tracts/Musical Background Tapes be used.) those tapes can be found at Wal Mart, K Mart, Best Buy, and large selections are available at Swicegood Music Co ;ocated at 3685 College, Beaumont, 409-833-8603.
Crab Festival representatives reserve the right to refuse any questionable or inappropriate entries.
All judges decisions are final.
