Bolivar Peninsula Community Outreach PO Box 2081 Crystal Beach, Texas 77650 Dear Friends: It's that time of the year when we need your help to make our Thanksgiving Baskets and Children's Christmas Fund a success on our Peninsula for the needy in our midst. This group was formed in 1997 under the AARP Outreach, and has served this Community throughout the years with our Food Bank for those in need of immediate assistance. We also have a food drive each year at our local Gulf Coast Supermarket, where people have so generously given to help us with Thanksgiving Baskets for less fortunate families. We usually give out approximately 75 baskets. This program also has the Children's Christmas Fund. Last year we gave gifts to Approximately 150 children here on the Peninsula. We have had some help from the Marines Toys for Tots, and we also receive new toys from those who wish to give. All monetary donations are used to purchase clothing and shoes for the children. This year we are also working with Jesse Tree for screening purposes to make sure no one is overlooked, but to also target those who receive help from other organizations or who do not qualify for help because they have adequate income for their families. We need your help to continue to make this program a success and we would appreciate your donation as soon as possible. You will receive a note of thanks along with a receipt for income tax purposes.
