  The Communtiy Outreach is sponsored with participation of the Churches and Civic Organizations of Bolivar Peninsula working together to help the needy. We gladly accept donations of money and/or food. We store our supplies at the AARP Building. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas for the Marine Corps. Volunteers stationed at the training center in Galveston have begun their annual Toys for Tots drive, which collects toys for needy children. The Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program in Galveston started 32 years ago. "Every underprivileged child receives a toy," Staff Sgt. Pedro Flores, program coordinator, said. "That should be a goal to everyone in the community. Let the spirit of Christmas take charge." The Bolivar Peninsula Community Outreach shares in this generous program, and gets its toys from the Marine Toys-for Tots. |
