Have lunch or supper in one of our numerous local restaurants, specializing from seafood to Italian. An antique brick barbecue pit is available. Be sure to bring your cooler for outside picnics. It's hard to tear yourself away from the sound of the serenity.

All bedrooms are individually designed, hand sewn with artistic uniqueness, beautiful wooden shiplap walls, ceilings and floors. They are soundproofed, air conditioned, with ceiling fans, and private entrances through sliding glass door to enter 8' decks that surround the entire side and front of the home, for sunbathing, birdwatching or to gaze at falling stars. You can see miles of unspoiled beach and smell the clean, crisp sea breeze. All have wonderful reading lamps.

#1 - The Green Room, with a California king-size bed, is literally surrounded by water. This special room decor is hunter green and wisteria, trimmed with ecru eyelet.

#2 - The Cape Cod Blue Room, wrapped around with windows, has 2 full beds and a panoramic view of the Gulf. The decor is blue and white roses trimmed with white lace.

#3 - The Colonial Room has lots of privacy. It features a handmade four poster, Pilgrims bed, designed for a California king. Layers of antique white eyelet, edged with black ribbon, enchance a romantic New England escape. From the bed, you view the beautiful spectrum of the sea. The 8' hand carved bureau is excellent for long term stays.

#4 - The Country Butterfly Room, (not shown on Tour) is newly decorated. It has a hand made crocheted white quilt, accented with lavendar backdrop. The color theme of the accessories are lavendar blue, white, with a touch of yellow. The Country Room has 1 double bed, and 2 singles. Perfect for 4 people or a family with children. Relax watch and listen to the rhythm of the Gulf.

#5 - The Victorian Room, has a canopy trimmed with deep purple lavendar lace over the California king-size bed, and two singles and has an Intra-Coastal Canal View. The specialty of the decor is mauve and plum roses, encircled with deep lavender lace. This is another excellent room for 4 people.

Martha's Vineyard Bed & Breakfast is an authentic B & B. You are able to use all 5000 sf of the house when you stay. It is so quiet you won't even realize that there are other guests in the house.

The upper deck consists of 1000 sf with built in writing tables. The 96' lower beach deck has lounge chairs for sunning and tables and chairs for outdoor dining.

Swimming:

  Martha's Vineyard is one of the few B & B's that accepts children. With the private entrances and exits, there is no need to concern yourself that the children will disturb other guests.

Birdwatching:

High Island and Bolivar Flats, only minutes away, are considered by ornithologists the greatest birdwatching areas in the Western Hemisphere. Click for More Info about Bolivar Birding  Martha's Vineyard is directly on the central flyway. Tens of thousands of song birds and other winged jewels of every description flock here on Bolivar. The flats shelter more than 100,000 roosting birds all year long. "Fallout" is mid-March through mid-May, fall migration is mid-August through October. Hawk migration and watch is September - November, Christmas count is in December.

Beachcombing:

Beachcombing is an awesome treasure hunt, finding abundant whole shells, ancient sharks teeth, Indian artifacts, driftwood and discards from ships. There are five sand bars and an oyster reef which break the waves from undertows and help clean the water. Since we are on a private beach, you can relax soaking up the sun and not have to worry about your children.
Beach toys, shovels and pails, surf boards, flutter boards, umbrella and chaise chairs are provided.

Hunting:

Hunting doves and waterfowl during fall is considered among the best in the state.
Lodging for hunting groups available.

Et Cetera:

Galveston is 20 minutes away. Take the return free ferry. Play croquet, volleyball or horseshoes. Borrow a book. Artists love the serenity to be creative. Astronomy lovers, borrow the book and watch the masses of stars with our telescope.
